Paid Placement: Ask Jeeves has contracted with Google for paid-placement listings for itself and syndication partners and is discontinuing its agreement with Overture. Through the paid listings and increased traffic, AJ expects a substantial increase in revenue beginning with a doubling in revenue in the fourth quarter. Over the life of the three-year contract, "the companies said they anticipate sharing more than $100 million in revenue" according to a report from Silicon Valley. Clearly paid-placement is a money maker. Also Ask Jeeves must be getting more traffic thanks to the better search results obtained from Teoma.
