E-Journals Six British journals from the 1700 and 1800s have been digitized and put online as images. Internet Library of Early Journals:A digital library of 18th and 19th Century journals at http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/ilej/ is a joint project by the Universities of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Oxford. Subject coverage is broad covering world events, literature, politics, science, and architecture. Titles include Gentleman's Magazine, The Annual Register, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, Notes and Queries, The Builder, and Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, The collections may be browsed and some journals can be searched. All make for interesting reading and many will have some references to Canada. Blackwood's for example has a long review of Susanna Moodie's second volume of "Roughing it in the Bush".
