Have you used social media for making travel plans? Probably most people have used TripAdvisor - and maybe posted to it. TripAdvisor is not mentioned by Pauline Frommer (yes -daughter of Arthur) in this article, but some other new social services are.
+ "Traxo.com, which is a site that — like the better-known Tripit.com — allows users to create easily managed travel itineraries and share them with selected friends."
+ "A relatively new website called SecondPorch.com has created a marketplace for “second homes,” properties that owners use on weekends or at vacation times but usually don’t rent out of fear of damage, theft and other hassles."
